About
Axis Paintworks was started as a result of Colin's passion for classic automobiles and the character and aesthetic they bring to the pavement. After graduating from Arizona State University and spending time in a Pontiac restoration shop, it became apparent that the time was right to open up for himself. Colin combined forces with his father Mark, of well over 40 years experience, and scraped together all the spare funds they could to open up for business on April 1, 2014.
For the next year and a half the father/son team participated in numerous big and small projects to further the shops success and establish a foothold in the industry. From stuffing a Ford Racing Coyote 5.0 into a 1957 Thunderbird to doing a complete color change on a Scion FR-S for the 2014 Scion Tuner Challenge, the team had its hands full and were eager to keep busy working on cutting edge customs as well as straight forward paint jobs and restorations.
After contributing invaluable knowledge and effort to help establish the business, Mark did retire, but the shop continues on with Colin and the skills he has honed over the course of his life being around and working in shops.
